Dear Parents,

First of all, I would like to wish you all a blessed Ramadan, and may Allah accept your prayers, fasting, and charity. I extend a warm welcome to all of you to the new academic year.

To all of our new school families, I thank you for choosing Charlotte Islamic Academy and allowing us to serve you and your children. To all of our returning families, I thank you for your continued support and trust. Jazakul Allahu Khairan to all.

Insha-Allah, the school is scheduled to have an Open House/Orientation day on Saturday August 27st, 2011 from 12pm – 2pm. New students and parents are required to attend to become familiar with some of the academy’s rules and procedures. It will also be a refresher for previous students and an opportunity to hear about new programs and procedures for the new academic year. You will also meet your teachers who will provide you with important updates for the upcoming school year.

The first day of school will be Tuesday September 6th. It was delayed this year due to Ramadan and the Eid break. The office and faculty will start August 15th on a light schedule.

The uniform policy will be implemented from the beginning of the year. Please review the policy in the Parents Handbook. The boy’s collared shirts with school emblems can be purchased at the school. And the girl’s abayas and hijab can be purchased from the Clothing Store in the ICC Masjid on 1700 Progress Lane, Charlotte, NC 28205. Pants and shoes may be purchased from any store that sells the uniform colors.

In order to save paper, we have posted the supply and book lists by grade on our website, www.ciacademy.us. For textbooks, please go to http://www.ciacademy.bkstr.com.

First month tuition will be due September 1st, 2011. Payments can be made through Smart Tuition or at the school's office. If you have any questions regarding your smart tuition account, please email Sister Aisheh at ai.ciacademy@gmail.com. If the first month tuition is not paid by September 16th, 2011, families will be charged a $10.00 late fee. All parents are required to use Smart Tuition regardless of their payment type. Parents who will pay for the whole year in full will only have to pay a $6.00 fee. All monthly payments parents still have to pay $43.00. Most parents paid the smart tuition fee at the time of registration. If not, this payment must be taken care of with your first month’s tuition.

We are very excited about the upcoming school year. It is without doubt that part of the school’s success, after the blessing from Allah (SWA), is because of the active involvement of parents. We look forward to your attendance and support throughout the school year.
