Principal Corner 

Asalamu Alakyum, My name is Alaa Alshaikh, 

I am delighted and honored to introduce myself as the new proud principal of Charlotte Islamic Academy. Stepping into the role of a new principal is an exciting journey filled with possibilities and new beginnings. I bring with me a deep-rooted passion of 25 years in the education field, Working with two different settings private and public schools. I have a bachelors in Elementary Education, a master’s in teaching English as a second Language. 

I hold North Carolina License k-12th, also I am a certified member of the American council of teaching a foreign language. Currently pursuing my PHD in School administrations. I decided to become an administrator based on my strong desire to positively impact an entire school community. Alhamdulillah I have earned high marks for the quality and creativity of classroom teachings, and instructional materials used in teaching diverse subjects. I have provided multiple professional developments for CMS and Charlotte Islamic Academy along with formal and informal teacher observations using the North Carolina Indicators. I am eager to build a strong relationship with all members of the school community, to listen to your thoughts, ideas and concerns and to work collaboratively towards a shared vision of excellence in education. I am thrilled to embark on this adventure alongside students, teachers, and parents of this school. 

My goal is to inspire a love for learning, encourage creativity, and achievement in each individual within our school community. Together, we will work towards creating a school environment that nurtures curiosity, embraces diversity, and celebrates the unique talents of every student. As a principal, I will lead our school with a clear vision and commitment to excellence. I will incorporate Islamic values into the curriculum as part of their daily lessons of the Quran, Ahadeeth, and Sunnah. I aim to cultivate a deep appreciation for Islamic teachings, an essential aspect of providing a well-rounded education at our school.

I will assure you of full commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment and a dedication to the growth of every student under my care Insha’Allah. I’m thrilled to continue sharing more about my vision as the new principal. Building a strong sense of community is at the heart of my approach. I aim to create opportunities for collaboration, dialogue and mutual respect among all members of our school family. 

We can work together to overcome challenges inshallah, celebrate achievements and create a positive learning environment where everyone feels valued and heard. I look forward to working hand in hand with each of you to create a thriving educational environment where every student can reach their full potential.
